Playing bingo with large groups of young children can be challenging, which is why I prefer to play bingo in small groups. When playing in a small group, you don’t need to print as many bingo boards or buy as many manipulatives so it’s more cost effective.

Saint Patrick's Day Bingo
Start by giving one St. Patrick’s Day bingo board to each child in your small group.
Then, place a bowl or basket of your chosen manipulatives in the center of the table so all the children can easily reach them.
If you’re using the black and white version, give crayons or one Do-a-Dot marker to each child. Do-a-Dot markers are high interest and very engaging for young children, they just love using these little paint filled daubers!
Next, show the children how to search for an image on their mats and cover with a manipulative or mark if found. You may need to show them a few times to ensure success.
Finally, start playing and have fun!

HOW TO PLAY ST. PATRICK’S DAY BINGO
Begin by downloading PDFs to your hard drive. Load your printer with heavy printer paper or cardstock. Set your printer to the highest quality print settings. Print out all of the tile pages and the cards.
Use a pair of scissors or a paper cutter to cut the bingo tiles into squares that you will use in place of standard bingo balls.

When it is time to play, traditional Bingo rules apply. All of the tiles should be placed in a bowl (or a leprechaun hat!), and the caller should pull one tile at a time. The caller describes and shows the tile to the players, and they look to see if they have that picture on their card. If they do, they are allowed to place a marker (gold coins or green candies are great choices) on that picture. Keep going until someone has 5 markers in a row — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. That player then shouts, “BINGO!” and they are that round’s winner.
